Louisiana?

Does HomeLife qualify as a Private School through the laws of Louisiana? We are moving to the NOLA area within the next month. Also, my husband now has a job with the US Army Corps of Engineers (as a civilian). Does RS 17:236 of the Private School option nullify our possibility as operating as a private school, or is it possible that our "family" is considered a separate entity from our "school," since he is employed now by the federal government?

Here is an analysis of the laws in your state. HLA is not "officially" listed with the state of LA as a private school. However, some families are registered with us under Option 2. Others are registered with us and with the state, using our services for record keeping, transcript, diploma, and counseling services. Either way, we'll be happy to help.
